Lone Star Trouble by Autumn Piper
Hot Texans, a stubborn redhead, and skin heads. I’m not even kidding. Skin heads.
Set on a sheep herding ranch in Colorado, Lone Star Trouble delivers what it promises. Kiersten Day has trouble in spades. She’s trying to hang onto her sheep ranch while a wealthy Texan tries to bully her off her property, first using zoning taxes and court proceedings then moving to more underhanded methods, or so it seems.
Kiersten never backs down, and she never lets her feelings for a certain cowboy dilute the payback she dishes out to the wealthy Texan, even if that certain cowboy happens to be the wealthy Texan’s son.
Bullying Texans aren’t all Kiersten has to battle. There’s also confusing feelings a plenty flying around her mountain top ranch, since the certain Texan wins her affections but a long-time friend reveals feelings of his own. Kiersten fights a local bad guy with a grudge from her past, worry over a loved one’s health, and her growing feelings for a man whose family has been trying to kick her off her land for years. It’s not an easy road, but Kiersten is up for the challenge.
From the setting Autumn Piper writes to her characters lives and passions, Lone Star Trouble was genuine through and through. The romance was sweet and sexy and filled with its own tension that resolves beautifully in the end.
This is my second book by Autumn Piper, and just like the first (Trouble Won’t Wait), this one took me on an emotional journey where I felt totally behind the heroine and HAD to see her succeed in the way that suited her. Definitely a keeper read. I’ll be picking up more from this talented author.

“You break all the rules,” she complained. “You call me Rocky, and kiss me on the mouth, and sleep over. It’s no good to have a man who won’t obey me.”
“I can be good in other ways.”
He skimmed his fingers along her hairline.
“You do have magic fingers.”

…And if one hot cowboy isn’t enough, there’s an identical one!
“Which one of ya claims to be older?” Wins asked.
Cleve shook his head. “Mama can’t remember. The birth certificates say it’s Clay, but she couldn’t tell us apart for the first week, so we were both ‘the twins’ for a while. I might’ve really been Clay, or he may have.”–Kindle Location 3098
